About this listing
Here’s an excellent condition 1974 top of the line Gibson Heritage acoustic. It has real mother of pearl inlays on the fret markers and headstock logo, solid top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides. The ebony moustache’ bridge and neck slab board is solid and overall excellent. There are minor horizontal stress cracks on the neck that has been there since the early eighties when I purchased it in Berkeley CA. They are on the neck and not at the body junction. It has a number 2 stamp on the back of the headstock. Perhaps a small cosmetic lacquer quirk on the face of the top or a slight hazing on the back.. can’t say. Otherwise a small scratch on the headstock from a string change but overall in pristine original condition with minor signs of play.Action is presently a high at the 12th fret, plays without issue. Frets show typical ware in the upper open chords. Could use a neck adjustment/reset ($500) or perhaps a bridge lowering? The tone is exceptional and is now coming into its own. Lacquer has toned to an appealing amber finish after 50+ years.Period correct lifton style case with some separation surrounding edges.
