About this listing
Jimi Hendrix is widely considered the most innovative guitarist of the rock era—a musician who took the instrument to places no one else had ever been. Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom and the Hendrix family, is proud to present the Jimi Hendrix "Love Drops" Flying V. This is an "Inspired by Gibson Custom" reproduction of a guitar Jimi played extensively from 1967 to 1969. Originally a Sunburst model, Jimi Hendrix customized his Ebony-finished Gibson Flying V with hand-painted psychedelic graphics—designs that have been recreated here. The Jimi Hendrix "Love Drops" Flying V also features a mahogany body, a one-piece mahogany neck with a rounded C profile, a laurel fretboard, and 22 medium-jumbo frets. An "Inspired by Gibson Custom" logo and a reproduction of Jimi’s signature adorn the back of the 1967-style Flying V headstock. Epiphone Deluxe tuners anchor the strings at the headstock, while a short Maestro Vibrola anchors them at the other end. The electronics are top-tier, featuring a pair of Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups wired to CTS potentiometers, a Mallory tone capacitor, a Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector, and a 1/4" output jack. An Epiphone hardshell case featuring "Inspired by Gibson Custom" and "Authentic Hendrix" logos is also included.FeaturesBody: MahoganyFinish: GlossProfile: Rounded "C"Scale Length: 628.65mm / 24.75"Fretboard: LaurelRadius: 304.8mm / 12"Neck: 1-Piece MahoganyFrets: 22 Medium JumboNut: Graph TechNut Width: 43mm / 1.692"Inlays: Mother-of-Pearl DotJoint: Glued-in, Set Neck Long HeelFinish: NickelBridge: LockTone Tune-O-MaticSaddle: NylonTailpiece: Maestro Short VibrolaTuners: Epiphone Deluxe with Double Ring Keystone ButtonPickguard: '67 Flying V 3-ply, whiteTruss Rod: Dual ActionTruss Rod Cover: '67 Flying V 3-ply, white with gold Epiphone logoKnobs: Black Witch Hat with reflector insertSwitch Tip: WhiteStrap Buttons: 3Neck Pickup: Gibson CustombuckerBridge Pickup: Gibson CustombuckerPickup Covers: NickelControls: 2 Volume, Master Tone; CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitorsPickup Selector: 3-Way SwitchcraftOutput Jack: Switchcraft 1/4"
