Every Revelator guitar starts it's life as a body that is CNC'd for us by one of several U.S. mills. These top quality reproductions are identically spec'd. copies of 1950's & 60's bodies. The relationships we have with these suppliers allow us to choose bodies with beautiful grain that are also light weight & resonant. We then sand and perform any final shaping that is required. They are then grained filled and sand sealed. We believe that the better our starting canvas is the better the final guitar we can create, These bodies give us the perfect beginning point for the guitars that bear our name.

After body prep is completed we begin the paint process. This is one of our favorite steps, We use only top quality, high solids, furniture grade nitrocellulose lacquer. We hand mix the color we spray, then we apply the correct layers of primer, color, and clear coat. After this we let the bodies & necks dry, usually for several weeks so that the lacquer can properly harden before aging.

We can't give away all our secrets, but we can say we DON'T use razor blades, X-Acto knives, freezing cans, paint stripper or power tools when aging or guitars.. Rather after the lacquer has properly dried we bust out our inner artist. We take pride in aging our guitars in a way that is more natural and true to the way an authentic 50 year old guitar would actually age. Using actual vintage instruments we inject varying degrees of "aging" and use into each piece.

We take a ton of pride in our necks. They are all hand built, hand carved & fretted one at a time. The edges are dressed & rolled until they feel like they've been played for 50 years. We have several back contours, fret sizes, and fret board radii available to choose from to accommodate the feel you're looking for.

Finally we put it all together like some kind of mystic tonal Gumbo. This is where all the individual components become a living breathing channel for your musical expression. We do our best to make it an instrument we love so much we really don't actually want to see it leave..

Once a guitar is finished we play it extensively through vintage amps here to make sure it's a killer. Our goal is to send you a guitar that you can't put down. We want it to be an extension of yourself that gets a ton of personal playing time and countless memorable gig hours. We stand behind our guitars for their lifetime, and we know that they'll stand the test of time and become legends in their own right.
