About This Listing

1973 GIANNINI CRAVIOLA AWN6 Model Brasilian Rosewood Museum Conditions come with a original case (very rare) code AC777 Made with beautiful Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides In November 1900, a period full of hope and change had just set up in Brazil. At this scenario with a lot of opportunities that the renowned Italian luthier Tranquillo Giannini decided to bet all your chips in your dream: begin in Brazil - a land loved by him - an acoustic musical instruments factory. From his pioneering success flourished. Soon, the small factory named with his family name, grew up and from 30's start the musical strings production to meet demand and maintain the recognized quality of his beloved instruments. In 1890 a gifted woodworker named Tranquillo Giannini traveled from his native Italy to Brazil to explore its treasure of exotic woods. He was so impressed by the remarkable abundance, variety, and quality of timbers, some of which are unique to the region that he never left. Settling in downtown Sao Paulo, he established a workshop primarily for making furniture, but as a hobby he built guitars for his friends in his spare time. Giannini guitars were (and are) made by the Tranquilo Giannini S.A. factory, Carlos Weber 124, Sao Paolo, Brazil. They are generally known for being well-made instruments featuring very fancy Brazilian hardwood veneers, as well as for the strange-shaped asymmetrical CraViola models.
