Black Locust by The Harvestman/IME is a four-channel effect pedal/instrument send/return interface for the Eurorack format. each of its four channels consists of a 1/4" TRS input/output jack, 1/8" TS Eurorack input and output jacks, a gain knob and a wet/dry mix knob.
as an instrument interface, it's simple to use. just plug in your instrument and line-level sources via standard 1/4" TS instrument cable, adjust the gain and the signal comes out the output at Eurorack levels.
to use as a pedal interface, a 1/4" TRS to dual 1/4" TS cable (also known as an "insert cable") is required. just connect the pedal's input to the "ring" connection and the output to the "tip" connection and you're ready to go. now just send your Eurorack signals to the corresponding input, adjust return gain and dry/wet signal mix, and out comes your freshly-effected signal.
but wait! there's more! as part of IME's "FEEDBACK CONSOLE" series of modules, the Black Locust's outputs are normalled back to the inputs. this allows you to create feedback loops through your effect pedals; even with no input signal, your pedals can turn into monstrous noisemakers all on their own!
