Video: ProAnalog Devices Strident Booster and MKIV Vintage Fuzz Drive Demo

ProAnalog Devices made a triumphant return to the pedal world in 2018 with the release of the Manticore Version 2. Today, the renowned boutique builder is back with two limited-run stompboxes, the Strident VTB booster and MKIV vintage fuzz drive.

In the video above, you can hear Andy Martin put both through their paces. In line with ProAnalog Devices' modus operandi, both pedals are expertly handwired and tailored to exacting standards.

The Strident has been designed with an ear toward keeping your guitar's original EQ range intact while boosting lows, mids, and highs. While other boost pedals may turn your signal into a too-focused, harsh-sounding howl, the Strident promises to enhance and subtly color the full spectrum of your tone.

The MKIV meanwhile "bridges that sonic gap between fuzz and overdrive," according to ProAnalog Devices. It has a hybrid circuit featuring both germanium and silicon transistors. You can get tight, subtle overdrives or spitty fuzz—or any combination of the two—in one enclosure.
