Triple Demo: Wampler Mini Ego Compressor, Pinnacle Deluxe V2, and Faux Tape Echo V2

Wampler Mini Ego Compressor

Specs:

  • True bypass
  • 9V power jack
  • Power draw between 14mA (9V) and 22mA (18V)
  • Three knobs for volume, sustain, and blend
  • Two switches for tone and attack
  • Made in the USA

The Wampler Mini Ego Compressor is a condensed version of Wampler's larger Ego Compressor with a few slight adjustments. The attack and tone controls on the larger Ego are knobs, but appear as switches on the Mini Ego. This gives players who prefer simple compressors a more streamlined and less tweakable layout while retaining the same warm tone of the original circuit in a smaller package.

Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe V2 Overdrive

Specs:

  • Relay true bypass stomp switch and boost stomp switch
  • Pre gain/boost toggle switch that works separately from main circuit
  • Modern/vintage switch
  • Knobs for volume and boost
  • Tweakable EQ knobs for bass, mid, treble, and gain
  • Power draw between 14mA (9V) and 22mA (18V)
  • Battery connection and 9V power jack
  • Made in the USA

The Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe V2 Overdrive is an incredibly tweakable pedal that expands on the offerings of Wampler's Pinnacle Deluxe. Its stackable boost feature is a big draw for this drive pedal, as is the toggle switch that allows you to dial-in either vintage or modern tones. The SAG switch on the side gives you extra control over your attack, and the three-band EQ is the bow that ties all of the pedal's customization capabilities together.

Wampler Faux Tape Echo V2

Specs:

  • Relay true bypass with stomp switch
  • Battery connection and 9V power jack
  • 40mA power draw
  • Sub divisions (switch) available on Tap Tempo (stomp switch), quarter, eighth, dotted eighth, and triplets
  • Knobs for rate, tone, repeats, delay mix, depth, and delay
  • About 800s of delay time (slight echo deterioration apparent after about 600m/s)
  • Made in the USA

The Faux Tape Echo V2 is another offering from Wampler that expands on its predecessor, the original Faux Tape Echo. The biggest update to the circuit is the subdivision button for quarter note, eighth note, dotted eighth note, and quarter note triplet. It's a slow and wide delay that provides players with incredibly warm and smooth echoes with long delay times and impressive note clarity.
