This week's Find of the Week is a classic case of East Meets West: it's a Jerry Jones Coral Electric Sitar that was formerly owned by the legendary guitarist and producer Ry Cooder.
First created in the early '60s by the session guitarist Vinnie Bell in partnership with Danelectro, the introduction of the electric sitar quickly evolved into one of the sonic signifiers of psychedelia. As a hybrid of a standard solid-body electric and the Hindustani classical instrument, most models had sympathetic strings and a flat bridge, contributing that signature twang that could be heard all over AM radio classics from "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" to "Hooked On A Feeling".

Ry's electric sitar was built by Jerry Jones Guitars and comes with the original case and an autographed certificate of authentication. Among other projects, he used it to record 2003's Mambo Sinuendo with the late guitarist Manuel Galbán—a duo that first worked together on the 1998 son cubano classic Buena Vista Social Club.
