“I don’t like guitars sitting around, not being played. I love these instruments, but you can only play so many guitars, you know? So I love to share things that I love with other people. That’s exciting.”
Sam Beam, better known by his stage name Iron & Wine, stopped by the Reverb studio to discuss his song “Caught in the Briars,” a song that took quite a bit of work and a ton of patience. Although he writes both on the piano and on the guitar, “Caught in the Briars” was written primarily on the guitar. Check out the video to hear Beam describe songwriting philosophy, how he approaches record making, and to hear him perform “Caught in the Briars.”
Beam also showcases some of the guitars he’s selling on his new Reverb shop. To see what he has for sale, click the banner or any of the images below.
