Pigtronix has joined the slew of brands that have announced new products for 2019 in anticipation of the NAMM show in Anaheim, with its unveiling of the new Resotron analog filter pedal.
Built around the SSM2040 chip found in the Prophet 5 and Octave CAT, the Resotron promises to bring '70s keyboard synth tones right to guitarists' and bassists' pedalboards. It offers envelope filters in up and down sweeping modes, along with a sensitivity control for adjusting how responsive the effect is based on how hard you play. There's also an analog pitch-tracking system that allows players to move the cutoff frequency of the filter based on notes played rather than how hard they're played.
There are built-in low-, band-, and high-pass modes, which are all tweakable via the peak knob, and the pedal also features an Oscillate function that allows players to turn the Resotron into an analog synth that follows pitch and playing dynamics, and the synth sounds can be adjusted from subtle to bombastic by switching between the low-, band-, and high-pass filter modes—all tweakable with the peak knob.
