Up for sale, a Framus Ruby Riot II 2x12 tube amp in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch and manual. First released in 2011, this German-made boutique amp is heavily inspired by the Vox AC30, utilizing an EL84 power tube quad pushing 30 Class A all-tube watts via a pair of Celestion 12" speakers (a Vintage 30 and a Greenback).
The Ruby Riot II features a single input dual channel design: the Clean channel has a pristine chime, with a sparkling top end, rich midrange and punchy, defined lows, pushing into overdriven grit at higher volumes. The Lead channel goes from bluesy bite to searing, modern high gain crunch. Both channels have independent Volume controls and 3-band EQs with Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs, and the Lead channel has its own Gain control.
The Ruby Riot II also has onboard spring reverb, controlled by the Reverb knob, and Tremolo with Depth and Speed controls. Both effects can be engaged via the included external footswitch. The reverb is lush and natural-sounding, and the built-in effects loop lends itself to high-gain playing.
The tube complement includes a quartet of JJ EL34 power tubes, 5 EHX 12AX7s, a JJ 12AT7, and a Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier. The stock pair of 12” speakers includes a Celestion Vintage 30 and a Celestion Greenback, a pairing popularized by the much-lauded Matchless DC-30.
This particular unit is in great shape, with just a scant few minor scuffs on the black alligator tolex (echoing Selmer amp aesthetics). The enclosure is robustly built, with three premium leather handles for ease of transportation.
The two-button footswitch is included, along with the user manual.
