Classic boutique octave/swell fuzz, likely from 2000, as it is true bypass and doesn't feature the gloopy hand-painted designs (most of which never appealed to me). It was produced prior to PE founder Jack Brossart's sad passing and his company's subsequent reforming.
Odds are, if you're looking at this listing, you know what kind of beast this is. I'll let my hero, the late lamented Robert Quine (Richard Hell & the Voidoids, Lou Reed, Matthew Sweet, Brian Eno) sum it up: "The Experience is a unique invention; I always bring it with me when I record. It does too many things to mention here but some examples are a massive '60s fuzz, fuzz with an endless sustain and beautiful octave effect, backward-sounding solos, and broken speaker and amp sounds for the more demented."
If you're chasing the tones of Hendrix, Gary Clark Jr. (pull up "Numb" on YouTube to hear this pedal magnificently in action), Doyle Bramhall II, Black Angels, Eric Johnson, etc., this is your pedal. More users can be found on Equipboard.
I've had this pedal since about 2014-ish, and I've only used it outside of my smoke-free home or band practice space 3-4 times. Like all of my gear, it's been quite well cared for. I have the box and papers, which are quite useful as they come with helpful settings suggestions.
I love this pedal and will likely regret selling it -- especially as PE pedals are increasingly rare and will likely become more expensive. But I'm trying to free up space and pay down some credit card debt. Jump on it now before I have second thoughts!
