About this listing
Marketed by Klassic Keys GB (Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England)Our sixth Rhodes of 2026 is a Stage 73 Mkll (USA/1980 + WOODEN keys). It has had a "pro" service, and is now available, all voiced and tuned. Avion Studios grommets have been fitted to ALL 73 assemblies on the harp, which is now a "trademark KKGB" one, all hand-polished, cleaned and "corrected". Note that every assembly is stamped with a number and pitch reference. Hammer tips have plenty "strikes" left, and all damper felts do their job. All 73 p/ups have been checked, as have tine length, tuning springs and the sustain mechanism etc. Harp is now "up to scratch..." All 73 wooden keys are now cleaned, eased and regulated. They all have the ubiquitous "miracle mod" factory fitted. In our erstwhile opinion, a decent Mkll is just one click down from the performance of the ultimate Rhodes <> the Mark V (1984).This superb model is the "reference action", that V Vibe and RMG Ltd (the Mk 8 makers in UK) utilise in their electric pianos. The RMG Rhodes Stage 61 is the latest new piano on the market, and we at KKGB thoroughly endorse this one ( we ARE official MK8 dealers, if you didn't know). it even has "Steinway" wooden keys. Its priced around £7000, and you will have to wait four months for it to be made....our Mkll is half that price, and its ready to roll and rock NOW! End result is a well set-up Stage 73, prepared for fast jazzy playing with a light, but positive feel......It now plays superbly, with a decent "bark" when played expressively, allowing "light and shade".......the grommets added increase the stability of all assemblies, and add sustain; typically 7/8 seconds, depending on the pitch (treble end can be shorter, as metal mass decreases). Eagle-eyed viewers might notice that some p/ups are red, whilst most are white; some new red ones were fitted after some photos were taken for the listing. P/ups are never guaranteed, BTW. They are like spark plugs, and can fail in the future(this is standard Rhodes stuff...).There is a top lid with this Rhodes; this protects the keys in transit. This piano was completed on week 8 of 1980, on a Monday ! Attached video shows actual Rhodes, (but with a different harp lid and FX unit)....you can see how playable and responsive it is.... It is NOT a Fender Rhodes instrument ~ the Fender name was dropped in 1975 ~ beware inaccurate descriptions in other listings (too lazy to check the history?). Don't buy a lemon, buy a peach from KKGB. Its a standard passive instrument, with bass boost and volume being the only controls. NO mains, NO USB, NO MIDI. External amplification is therefore required. Any FX pedal/rack can be utilised twixt piano and the amp/mixer/DAW. FREE TC Electronic "Blood Moon" phaser is included in the sale(not shown). The wonderful flat-top harp lid ( aka the "hood") allows a second keyboard to be popped on, NO faffing about! This is an unique MKll feature, now ignored by everybody else, for some peculiar reason....Special UK price is just £3450, including FREE (mainland) delivery...maybe bespoke, maybe on a pallet. Sale is via HMRC VAT margin scheme. This simply means that no VAT may be reclaimed by registered entities. Private buyers are unaffected.Export price is £3250. All inquiries speedily replied to. KKGB ship (nearly) world-wide.
