About this listing
Marketed by Klassic Keys GB (Ashby-de-la-Zouch, E. Midlands, England).Buying a used electro-mechanical instrument can be a risky exercise. Chances are that you will inherit somebody else's problems, whatever reassurances you are given by the seller. This is a Klassic Keys GB electric piano; there are NO issues, snags, faults, grief......we are here for the players...and you pay for what you get......its in pretty good condition, all over....... but plays superbly....and that is important. This 1977 Rhodes Stage 73 Mk1 has been "pro" serviced by Klassic Keys GB, over many days.... sourced from Stafford in 2025; ex domestic studio use only. The "engine" was extracted, and then the Rhodes was rebuilt "from the ground up..." Harp has been refurbed up to "KKGB trademark" standard; every assembly being hand-polished during the fitting of new tone bar grommets (Avion Studios), whilst correcting tine length, tuning springs & uniformity of line-up, replacing some hammer tips & damper felts & c/pin felts, after cleaning and easing all 73 wooden hand-made pine keys, so it is now raring to boogie.... all voiced and tuned. ...enjoying maximum sustain properties of 6/7 seconds ( this reduces at the treble end, as metal mass progressively diminishes). Five tines have been replaced (below KKGB standard), one dead p/up replaced, & many damper felts popped on.... No "miracle mod" is fitted. It is not required. And bringing all Rhodes pianos into the 21st century, KKGB have fitted a V Vibe Stereovibe pre-amp. Its a complete new rail ( RRP £599). This new device has a lithium battery on board, chargeable by (type C) USB cable. Once fully charged, the Rhodes can perform for (approximately) 19 hours with NO wires/NO mains required; ideal for gigging. FX loop/bass + treble/ cut + boost/stereo outputs pushing out a glorious stereo tremolo, with infinite control over speed and depth. Audio signal is strong and clean, with no interference from mains/whatever. Emergency (passive) audio is easily accessed via the FX output, if battery is allowed to drain completely; also handy for "dry/passive" recording.Happily, add-on struts can still be added to enable a second keyboard to be popped on top. See photos of KKGB Sledge synth...sure looks good!
