Video: Slash On His Best Gibsons, Dirt Pedals & More | First, Last, Best

Last week, we had the chance to catch up with Slash to talk about his touring rig and gear philosophy. This week, he's back to share even more about the gear that he's had throughout his life.

In our "First, Last, Best" series, we ask musicians to give us the first guitar, last guitar, and best guitar they've ever had. Guitar, in this example, can really be swapped out with any piece of gear. With Slash, we talk his go-to brand Gibson in particular, some of his favorite pedals, and even some of his most sought-after dream gear.

Consistency is key for Slash, who cited the last Gibson he bought as a 1988 Les Paul Standard that's identical to the '88 LP Standard he's been playing since 1988. He's also a steadfast user of the legendary Ibanez Tube Screamer—it may not be the first distortion he's ever gotten, but it does take the cake in both the best and last distortion he's picked up, as he most recently acquired one having belonged to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Watch the full video above, and check out our full Slash interview and touring rig breakdown from last week if you happened to miss it. Slash's most recent record, Orgy of the Damned is available now wherever you listen to music and on vinyl here.
