When Gibson announced the appointment of its new CEO JC Curleigh this past October, the denizens of the guitar community made a lot of predictions about changes he might bring to the company.
Of course, as anyone who's followed gear news closely will know, Gibson's filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier last year was the result of some missteps. And while the past executive team had made bets on the consumer electronics market, many fans of Gibson's guitars thought the instruments and lineups at the time left something to be desired. Since October, Gibson has announced a number of new models, including a recently launched line of vintage-spec'd classics, which you can read more about here. At NAMM this week, we had the chance to catch up with JC about what he loves about Gibson guitars and what's coming next for the historic maker.
