Today, Bad Cat has released a brand-new amp exclusively on Reverb. The Cub 50/50 is a 100-watt stereo amplifier with 50 watts per side and a hybrid power section that uses both tube and Class D circuitry.
In the video above, you can hear Andy Martin put it through its paces.
With a switch to the right of the Gain knob, you can select between two different preamp tube arrays: a 12AX7 in the first position for a smoother tone or an EF86 for more aggressive gain. The Fat switch (to the right of the Bass knob) allows you to add more harmonic richness. And both switches can be controlled via a footswitch too.
From there, a Class D power amp promises to amplify the tone without adding any of its own color. You can use the Cub 50/50 as a mono 50-watt or stereo 100-watt head. A mono effect send and stereo effects return allows you to loop in your pedalboard for stereo effects, and a digital reverb is built-in.
