After an image leaked three weeks ago that appeared to feature two new Mutable Instruments synth modules, Eurorack enthusiasts speculated what exactly that new gear could be.
On March 30, Mutable Instruments officially announced Marbles, a random gate and voltage sampler designed for "controlled chaos" and "repeatable randomness."
Early this morning, the innovative synth makers at Mutable announced the Stages segment generator, an envelope capable of all manner of different configurations. With six faders, six potentiometers, and a flexible input/output layout that includes 12 CV ins, six CV outs, it can act as "six independent decay envelopes, or a single 6-segment envelope generator, or something in-between."
According to Mutable Instruments’ site, "The module detects the presence of jacks on its gate inputs to group its segments," giving you wide flexibility in how you patch it. You can create Ramp, Hold, or Step segments, and can make one or more segments loop continuously.
