The latest pedal from Beetronics is here: the Abelha Tropical Fuzz. Inspired by the out-of-this-world psychedelic fuzzes of Brazilian Tropicália music, this new pedal promises to blend that genre's old-school charm with today's modern musical innovation.
The new Abelha fuzz (which means "bee" in Portuguese) features a three-way toggle switch for selecting between the pedal's three distinct and aptly named flavors of fuzz.
The "Nectar" mode provides your huge and round fuzz option. "Honey" will give you a versatile fuzz with more contained gain, while "Polen" delivers a "sagged and spitty tone reminiscent of a dying battery on a germanium fuzz style," according to the brand.
The pedal face also features a "Loud" knob for volume, a "Buzz" knob for adjusting the fuzz levels, and "Hi" and "Lo" controls for tone-shaping and EQing. There's also a high-pass filter "Tropical Mode" that players can engage by double-tapping the footswitch.
The new Abelha Troical Fuzz is available now, right here on Reverb, for $289 USD in its standard black enclosure. For those who want something more unique, a variety of custom shop finishes are available in the Beetronics FX Official Reverb Shop.
