Fi-cord A1 a ( license of Stellavox SM4a ) tape recorder.
made in England in 1959 !
Ficord 1A tape recorder ( license of Stellavox SM4a ) The Fi-cord 1A is a Miniature Audio Tape Recorder. Got it from closed collection and started to playback - it works ! 8 Volt DC source from external PSU with around 0.2 A and sound is fine. Also my GRUNDIG microphone with modded screw plug plugged in an started a record with good result. This unit is so cute and works after years ! The Ficord 1A of 1958 was actually a Stellavox SM4a recorder built under licence by Erskine Laboratories in Scarborough for Ficord Ltd. Georges Quellet's delightful and very successful .
I made a quick video clip to sho wthat it works properly.
It comes without power supply or batteries and no microphone.
The two reels with tape are included.
