Late 50's early 1960's Gretsch Round Badge Snare Drum_Progressive Jazz model "Max Roach" - Midnight Blue Pearl, 6 ply (maple/gum), 8 lug, stick chopper die cast hoops
This is a beautiful example of a rare and fantastically sounding, Gretsch Progressive Jazz snare drum in Midnight Blue Pearl wrap. Everything about this drum is in excellent, all original collector's condition. Micro-sensitive throw-off works perfectly and all of the chrome plated hardware is in excellent condition. Its wrap is also in beautiful condition. The interior of the 6-ply shell is original silver-gray. The 4" x 14" Progressive Jazz, "Max Roach" model snare is an iconic Gretsch drum from Round Badge era that is perfect for jazz combo work.

• Wrap: Original, in excellent condition, no fade, no cracks or bubbling (only one small tear of the wrap visible in the last 2 photos. Invisible after installing the drumhead).
• Hardware: All original, showing only minor pitting and fully intact.
• Modifications: None. There are no extra holes, and all components (except snare wires and drumheads) are original to the drum. Original bearing edges in perfect condition. Shell is perfect round without any ply separation.
• Functionality: Micro-Sensitive Throw-off and butt plate, tone control are all in perfect working order. Snare tunes easily.
• Pre-Paper Tag: This snare is a pre-label, no paper tag. Gretsch began placing paper labels inside their drums in about 1962.
