Aria Pro II CT Series

Now then. Here we have a somewhat rare and unusual beast. The Aria Pro II CT Series. Gorgeous looking, with a coloured lacquer finish that allows the stunning grain of the wood to shine through. This has to, genuinely, be one of the most tonally versatile guitars I have ever come across. It is also the only guitar I've ever had where ALL of the pickups (or none of them) can be active at the same time. There are 3 switches below the bridge, and each corresponds to a pickup. Up is off, down is on. Simple as that! But wait. There's also a split coil humbucker at the bridge. The combinations of tone are mind-boggling. If only one pickup is used, then the switch effectively becomes a 'killswitch' Remarkable. But that's not everything. This beast has a Kahler 'floating' bridge. I researched them, and they're nearly £200 new! This one has some tarnishing, but I dismantled it (out of pure curiosity really, having never seen one before) and cleaned and oiled it. I have to say it is a piece of design genius. Such a stable bridge compared to a Floyd Rose. It allows for a really controlled dive, while the locking nut keeps it perfectly in tune. It can also be locked off with the use of an allen key. I'm gushing I know, but it really is a superb piece of kit. Lovely slim, smooth neck. There are some cosmetic issues, as you'd expect with a guitar of this age (seems to be from the late 80s/early 90s, but can't really tell) I've photographed all the dings and scrapes as best I can, but none of them affects the playing ease, or the tone. There is the tiniest bit of fret-wear, but nothing really. All in all this is a fantastic instrument, that would have been considered just below 'high-end' in its day, and has not lost its quality with age. Enjoy!
