Known for his work at McPherson before leading PRS’s acoustic design, Fischer crafted this instrument with a level of skill that’s evident in its sound and construction. Today, the Angelus Cutaway is only available as a private stock model, making this prototype an especially unique find.
This guitar, marked with serial number "Prototype 33" and signed by Fischer, has a body size that sits between an OM and a Grand Auditorium. It’s well-balanced for both fingerstyle and strumming, with a cocobolo back and sides paired with a European spruce top that produce a tone rich in dark lows and mids, offset by bright, sweet highs with exceptional clarity.
In excellent condition, this 2008 Angelus shows minimal signs of its age, with some light playwear on the top and back and a minor lacquer chip on the top binding. Outfitted with an L.R. Baggs pickup, it’s fully equipped for live performance, delivering both acoustic warmth and detailed amplified sound.
This Angelus Cutaway comes in an Ameritage case and includes a TFOA passport, ready for anyone seeking a high-caliber, stage-ready acoustic with a unique place in PRS’s acoustic lineage.
