2002 Kenny Hill USA Hauser Cutaway Classical 640mm Short Scale Custom

Offered for sale is a cutaway classical from Kenny Hill's shop in Felton, CA. Dubbed the Curva Negra, it is essentially his Hauser model, with an added cutaway. Ideal for those looking to maintain a classical feel with added access to upper frets. This particular one also features a 640mm short scale, which is quite nice on the left hand in terms of reach and a bit softer on the right hand as well.

Current string height is around 2.5mm on the bass and 2mm on the treble, set up nicely with La Bella Gold 850s. The string beads, to me indispensable, will also be included. Classical guitars from the Hill shop have the notably nice feature of having a truss rod, so relief adjustments are possible. For me it is in a great place as it is. 

The guitar is overall in very good shape, with wear primarily on the binding edges as pictured. There are expected light marks in the delicate French polish; I have always liked the flatter sheen of shellac, which provides a soft glow. There is evidence of suction cups from a support on the side that would rest on the player's knee, with some roughness in the finish.

A detail I love on this particular one is the green purfling theme on the back and sides, a touch of class. It's a really fine guitar made in the USA from a shop with many years of experience in the nylon / classical tradition. Lightweight, and a pleasure to hold and play. It will ship with its original TKL hard case, which fits the guitar very well.
