About this listing
The D18 is one of Martin's most successful models. It was designed as a pure tone machine without frills. Countless artists have ensured that the D18 is an indispensable part of music history. Playing a vintage D18 is an almost magical experience, especially when it sounds as incredibly good as this 1967 D18!Few dreadnoughts are as beloved as the Martin D18, a versatile workhorse that prioritized function over style. Over the years, the specifications of this model have changed regularly, and this 1967 D18 demonstrates the specs characteristic of that period. The tortoise binding gave way to black in 1966, but the pickguard remains tortoise because it was not changed until sometime in 1967. The one on this guitar is a replacement.Several cracks on the top have been repaired using internal cleats; two behind the bridge and the well-known pickguard crack. Additionally, a crack on the back of the body has been repaired. Furthermore, some material has worn away around the soundhole due to playing. The guitar has been refretted, during which the radius was adjusted from a 12” to a 20” compound radius. Additionally, the nut and bridge saddle have been replaced, and finally, a crack in both the bridge and the bridge plate has been glued.Furthermore, this D18 displays the traces of time in a stylish manner, and thanks to the built-in LR Baggs Lyric, it is a true stage guitar! This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.Consignment, photos of: Actual Instrument
