The 12-string configuration delivers that iconic Rickenbacker shimmer that defined countless recordings from the 1960s onwards - from the Byrds to R.E.M. and beyond.FACTORY SPECIFICATION - ALTERNATIVE PICKUP PLACEMENTThis guitar left the Rickenbacker factory with the bridge pickup positioned closer to the neck than their standard configuration - the routing, finish work, and installation are clearly factory quality. While the specific reason for this placement on this particular instrument isn't documented (it may have been a custom shop order, experimental specification, or special request), it's unquestionably genuine Rickenbacker craftsmanship.Left-handed 12-string Rickenbackers are genuinely rare instruments. Production numbers were always low compared to right-handed models, making this an increasingly difficult configuration to find, particularly in this condition and from this period. The stereo output (Rick-O-Sound) allows you to split the neck and bridge pickups to separate amplifiers or channels, opening up stunning sonic possibilities that few other guitars can match.SPECS• Year: 1999• Model: 381/12V69• Configuration: Left-handed 12-string• Body: Semi-hollow, maple construction• Neck: Maple with rosewood fretboard• Inlays: Triangle position markers• Pickups: Two high-gain single coils• Output: Mono/stereo (Rick-O-Sound)• Binding: Full body binding• Hardware: ChromeCOLLECTION & DELIVERYI'm happy to arrange collection in person, or can ship securely within the UK only.
