The "monkey grip", which was the trademark of JEM, has been updated to the "pedal grip", designed with the image of petals nestling together. The neck, shaped to Steve's preferred grip, has a five-piece maple and walnut structure, and the familiar decoration can be seen on the fingerboard, but this is called "PIA Blossom Inlay" and was newly designed for PIA. The pickup is equipped with DiMarzio UtoPIA, designed for PIA based on the tone direction that Steve is pursuing.
