Video: The Weirdest Guitars Fender Ever Made

When you imagine a Fender, you probably think first of a Telecaster, a Stratocaster, or maybe a popular offset like the Jazzmaster. But Fender's past—and present—is full of lovable weirdos, guitars that travel far outside these traditional realms.

The Meteora is the most recent addition to this weird lineup, a futuristic offset that first introduced in 2018 as part of the Parallel Universe series. Now, the Meteora and the Meteora Bass have joined the Player Plus series. This time around, they have flat, 12" radius fretboards, new finishes, and Fireball humbucker pickups specially designed for the model.

But in our video above, we took the opportunity to look at not just the new Meteoras, but the whole lineup of offbeat guitars from Fender's past.

To do it, we borrowed some of the wildest guitars we could find from shops on Reverb.

These include a Performer from New York City's Rivington Guitars, a Maverick from Brooklyn's Southside Guitars, and a Bullet I and Lead III from Chicago Music Exchange.

Watch the full video above to hear them in action, and find all of the guitars we mention and play in the video below.
