This model was designed with a double cutaway model and a full-body guitar with that image. To transform that image into a sound, it is easier to express it with a single coil than with a humbucking P.U., so we made it a single-coil P.U. version. The body width is a standard 16" and it is a thin body. The internal structure of the body is the same as the Detroit One, which is unique to KING SNAKE. Because the material is based on a rustic sound, it has a unique mid-tone that gives the sound a core, but also a full acoustic feel. The amplified sound is thick when clean, and rocks without blurring the core when crunched. It is a sound that best matches music with a strong beat. It resonates without stress even in an ensemble with a strong beat and is a best match for all beatnik music such as jazz, blues, blues rock, R&R, country rock, and folk rock.

"Detroit One" Block"

Designed with the tone and volume when played through an amplifier in mind, and in order to obtain the core and sustain of the sound despite its full acoustic structure, a 15mm thick spruce material is applied to the back of the bridge (width 80mm length 70mm). This increases the strength of the sound with a unique sustain and a good sense of compression that cannot be obtained with a normal full acoustic guitar, and it can be fully handled even with a crunch distortion setting. In other words, the sound is in the middle of a semi-acoustic and a full acoustic.

"Sharpness created by the thin TOP & BACK of 3.5mm." The plywood top & back material is 3 ply maple / spruce / maple. It is finished thin to give the sound a quick rise and a crisp and undulating feeling when the volume is turned up during a live performance. The maple/spruce/maple configuration is the same as the old 175, but for example, the 175 from the 1950s was maple (about 1mm)/spruce (about 3mm)/maple (about 1mm) for a total thickness of about 5mm. The Curtis is maple (1mm)/spruce (1.5mm)/maple (1mm) for a total thickness of 3.5mm. They have the same material structure, but the thickness is different, so the response is different. This thinness, combined with the Detroit One Block, gives the sound a core and is fully capable of handling strong attack playing. The "ultra-lightweight" aspect is also attractive to players.

Original P.U. "KING SNAKE TB-1"

Based on a vintage P-90, it is arranged according to the position. The neck pickup has fewer turns of wire to prevent the bass from becoming too boomy, is hand-wired with loose tension, and uses Alnico 5 for the magnet. The bridge pickup uses Alnico 4, and the wire is wound with a slightly larger number of turns and a looser tension than the neck pickup. It has a crisp tone with a powerful mid and low range. Both pickups are wax-potted to prevent feedback.

Unique ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish

The base is made of nitrocellulose lacquer, the same as vintage guitars. Compared to the currently popular polyester, the paint can be finished at a thickness of about 1/3 or less, so the body and neck are constructed to suit each model, and the "wooden sound" of the body and neck resonates directly, giving the KING SNAKE a unique texture that looks wild and luxurious.

Custom Pinned Bridge & Tailpiece

By mounting the bridge on two protruding pins on the body side, it is possible to avoid the bridge shifting when played strongly and the tuning going out of tune all at once, which is common when using a full-acoustic guitar. This allows you to concentrate on playing without stress. The reason it is made of rosewood instead of Tune-O type is to adjust the mature nuances in the sound. It also uses a custom tailpiece. The part that holds the strings is made from a heavy brass piece, which helps to make the strings vibrate more strongly.
