A lovely instrument with an incredibly powerful tone indicative of the Italian school of the early half of the twentieth century. Robust and full of rich overtones. Bright and soaring 'E' and 'A' especially in the higher positions. The 'D' and 'G' Especially Ring exceptionally well in a perfect hall; double-stops are rich and clear and well rounded. The violin is suitable for advancing players; collectors, professional musicians, conservatory musicians, folk, mariachi and any wide spectrum of playing styles. It'll bring out the best in any ones capable hands. The instrument is light weight at 468grams.
Back measures 350mm
The violin is in pristine condition, with slight scratches and ware with no open cracks or seams.
Varnish is a golden-reddish light coat over a yellow-amber grout.
The back is a two piece medium to highly flamed maple. With matching sides neck and delicately carved scroll.
Top is a finely grained spruce as is the bridge which appears to be finely cut as fine as possible with pointed inside corners, no brand but is very sturdy and allows for optimal vibration of the string. The spruce is also of fine selection in the bridge. New-ish Dominant strings strung over the fittings of light weight strong ebony. The fingerboard also of fine light weight ebony with no warping, plays comfortably in all positions and across all strings.
The sound post may fall during shipping as the violin will be shipped with the bridge in resting position underneath the tailpiece with ample padding.
