This is the original Tsumura book from 1994.

The absolute maximum when it comes to books on stringed instruments.

Akira Tsumura spent decades and millions of dollars to accumulate this collection and $ 3,8 million to have 2500 of these magnificent, 18 pound books made.

He had a temple built for his instruments and then documented that in this book.

For save shipping around the world I found 3 boxes that fit into each other like a glove plus some upholstery.
That means that, including its original leatherette box and Tsumura labeled first box, there are 5 layers of protection between this unbelievable book and the outside world.

I bought it new in 1994 from Günther Amend of Düsseldorf who is mentioned in the preface.

It always stayed in its original leatherette box which always stayed in its original cardboard box.

A masterpiece of printing technology on the finest instruments of the Jazz Age, a most important epoch of musical history.
