Rostislav Čapek, founder and owner of Čapek Bluegrass & Jazz Instruments, was born into a musical family in 1968. After training at the School for Violin Makers in Luby u Chebu and the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Musical Instruments in Hradec Králové, he founded his company in 1985 and made his first five-string banjo. Since then, he has manufactured hundreds of five-string, tenor and special banjos, mandolins and other related instruments.
The distinctive sound of this Brdy banjo is ideal for old-time music and the frailing style, with a cutaway for thumb playing. The banjo has a three-ply maple body with matt finish, and a beautiful flamed maple neck with unique mother-of-pearl inlay. This is the typical emblem of the Brdy region in the Czech Republic, which resembles a snowflake but is actually the joining of four spruce branches.
The Brdy banjo is further equipped with a Whyte Laydie tone ring, a Sullivan's toasted maple bridge and has a beautiful flamed maple armrest. The beautiful engraving on the heel completes this top-quality Capek banjo!
Comes with TFOA passport in a Capek gig bag.
