Milkman 300W Half and Half combo , 15" speaker, full cover

I'm selling my Milkman Half and Half steel amp. With clam shell cover by studio slips. 15" Telonics speaker. It's in great shape.

This amp has been designed exclusively for the modern pedal steel guitar player. (Although it is an amazing sounding amp for bass also.) I wanted to make an amp that would end the debate over which is best - solid state or tube - once and for all. The results are in and the conversation has changed.

The Half and Half gets its name because the preamp and reverb section of the amp are all dervied from the same hand wired tube circuit that the other Milkman pedal steel amplifier models feature. Its built with the same quality of construction onto a turret board with cloth wiring into a custom aluminum chassis.

Rather than feeding a tube amplifier, the preamp of the Half and Half cascades into a power amp module that puts out 300 watts into 4ohms, or 150W into 8ohms. This siginificantly reduces the weight of the amplifier - only 28.5 pounds with a speaker installed! Class D amplifiers behave similar to Class A amplifiers, so the result is a very high fidelity tone that is voiced for pedal steel. The ICEpower module is 90% effecient, and convection cooled, so there is no fan. The Half and Half has an exceptionally low noise floor compared to its tube powered cousins. Its just as comfortable in the studio at low volume as it is on the stage.

 I have been using my Half and Half for most all my gigs lately and it has far surpassed my expectations. Beside sounding astonishingly great they are under 30 lbs, super sturdy and plenty of headroom.  If you are near Austin you can come by and check it out.
