The Sandberg Florence Mahogany is a 30″ short-scale bass built around one idea: warmth. A mahogany body paired with a mahogany neck gives it a thick, woody midrange and a round, full low end that sits in a mix with almost no EQ, while the rosewood fingerboard softens the attack and keeps everything smooth even when you dig in.
The control layout is deliberately simple. A single Sandberg Powerhumbucker sits between neck and bridge position, feeding a volume knob and a push-pull tone control. In its standard position you get a defined, punchy P-style voice; pull the knob and a capacitor cuts the mids and highs for pure, old-school thump — equally at home on Motown grooves and stoner rock.
At 3.45 kg the Florence is featherweight, and the 30″ scale with its lower string tension makes it easy on the hands through a long set. An obvious choice for guitarists doubling on bass, and a genuinely inspiring writing tool for anyone else. 20 frets, 4-bolt neck joint, black pickguard and chrome hardware. Handbuilt in Braunschweig, Germany, and supplied with Sandberg gigbag and certificate.
