About this listing
Up for sale is a stunning, half-century-old 1975 Martin D-41 in exceptional condition. This guitar perfectly bridges the gap between a collector's piece and an absolute player's dream. It wears its history beautifully, defined by two major traits: gorgeous, authentic finish crazing through, and an extraordinary, deep resonance that only 50 years of aged tone woods can provide. This D-41 has been professionally serviced and is ready for its next chapter. Professional Maintenance & PlayabilityYou can skip the costly maintenance usually required for 1970s Martins. This guitar has been fully optimized by renowned luthier Zach Muffoletto (Zmuff Guitars, Greenfield, MA):Neck Reset & Compression Refret: Executed flawlessly by Zach Muffoletto. The neck is straight and at the correct angle providing accurate intonation.Current Setup: Strung with Martin Lifespan MA540T light gauge strings. Action: Fast play dialed in at 2.0mm on the bass side and 1.5mm on the treble side.Condition & OriginalityThe Body: Only minor signs of wear consistent with careful use over five decades. Center Seam Repair: There was a typical lower-bout crack along the center seam on the top. It has been professionally glued, cleated from the inside, and given a smooth surface touch-up. It is completely flat, structurally rock-solid, and blends in so well it simply looks like a natural woodgrain line.Components: Features an updated pickguard and custom saddle for optimal performance. Otherwise, the guitar appears to be completely original.Hard Case IncludedFully functional and in great structural shape. Note: There is an indentation in the case shell (pictured in the final photo) which is easily repairable. This is a rare opportunity to own a highly resonant, beautifully broken-in vintage D-41 that plays like a brand-new boutique instrument.
