Fender Jazz Bass – (USA Neck / MIJ Ash Body)This is a great-playing Fender Jazz Bass that pairs a USA-made neck/tuners/bridge/pickups with a Made in Japan natural-finish ash body. I bought it as my back up in 2018 and was told by the seller that it was 100% 2005 Fender HWY 1 Made in America parts except for the body. That all seems to check out (unstamped tuners, badass bridge, pictures of neck and neck pocket...) The bass was set up here in Milwaukee and it plays really well.Neck: 2005 USA Fender Highway 1 Jazz Bass neck (Maple with satin back, rosewood fingerboard). Plays fast and smooth with low action. There is one ding on the back of the neck that I did not even know was there until I started taking pictures.Body: Solid ash body featuring a natural finish. The neck pocket stamp indicates Japanese Fender production. It comes with two pickguards, of which I believe the tortoise to be from the original HWY 1.Electronics: the bass came to me with an aftermarket preamp installed which I replaced with standard jazz pots and wiring (NOT the HWY 1 greasebucket circuit)Finish/Cosmetics: Coated in a thick traditional gloss poly finish with some dings and chipping. Neck pocket area has poly chipped off quite a bit. There are two small dings that I have photographed. The back of the bass is clean, the photographs show reflections, not imperfections.It comes with a CNB branded aftermarket hard case that has one gouge in it that happened when the case was shipped to me (empty, not with the bass in it) All latches work, has original keys, and is 100% suitable for road gigs and storage.This is a great bass that could work as a #1 or a back up. Stays in tune and has low action.
