About this listing
tremendously rare Akai S1000 KBrare keyboard version of the classic high-end Akai sampler.it's a great stereo 16-voice polyphonic sampler with truly high-end possibilities, barely any modern gear can yet compete with it. like just as a example - you can have up to 8(!) loop points per sample, with custom length and rate of repeat. truly enormous amounts of other features. very flexible and fully assignable controls.beautiful iconic high-end Akai sound. old school quality, made in Japan.the keyboard version is super rare and almost impossible to find. something that almost never appears for sale anywhere worldwide. not many were made. very limited edition. the keyboard makes the S1000 a very different instrument. with built in keyboard and an option just to immediately play polyphonically, it becomes really special. the keyboard has a great a great quality and feel as well.it's enormously big, and weights a ton. however, I don't mind shipping it. as you can see, the shipping price is big, but it's purely because of massive weight and size cost. it will take me a few days to pack it, and I will do my absolute best to let it be top secure. you can expect the heaviest amount of bubble wrapping you probably have ever seen in your life, and my ultimate care to let the shipping meet all the highest and meticulous safety standarts.of course it also can be picked up in person, but you have to have a car or to be ready to take a taxi. it’s literally impossible to carry it around a public transport. condition is very good and fully working. as you can see on the pictures - the body is really good. but there are some minor scratches and blemishes. nothing really critical, and in overall everything is fine, and the front face of the unit is beautiful. all shown in details and pictured. the screen might be a bit dull, the backlight is not very bright, because of the age. but as shown on the pictures - it's well readable. there's some quirk that online information says that these keyboards have aftertouch. it's not my first Akai S1000KB, and they don't have aftertouch on the keyboard. it's just not there by design. so internet is lying and has uncertain mixed information. please, do not expect aftertouch if you're looking for one. it still accepts aftertouch information by midi, though.it comes with Lotharek floppy drive emulator installed! this is a really fancy and expensive stuff, way superior to any alternatives. designed and manufactured in European Union, and has proofed and stable HxC firmare and all the right settings already made to be plug and play. has bunch of floppy images on a high quality sd card inside, which is also included.all the inputs and outputs are working fine. all the controls, all the internal functions, sampling, all the i/o, headphones out, midi, etc. all works perfectly.it comes with 5Mb RAM installed (on the power up it says 5Mwords, some internet sources are saying that it actually means 10Mb Ram, but I'm not sure, I never use that much anyway, so these numbers hopefully are more clear for you than they are for me).it is UK/EU voltage unit (220/240v), power cable will be included.this sale and other sales are about my private devices exploration. all the equipment I have for sale was more likely temporarily used in music project, and was treated with great care and respect, and has been all played in-depth.you're very welcome to make offers, or just to have a chat.due to the bulky, heavy, complex, and vintage nature of the unit - it's sold as seen with absolutely no returns. you can check my profile feedback and request more photos/videos or even video calls, if you want to see more about the unit.please, be sure that I do my very best to describe everything as fair and as properly as I can, but I’m not taking any responsibility for it after it leaves my home. by buying it you agree for these terms and conditions.
