We had a chance to catch up with Dreamer Boy during their most recent tour stop in Chicago, and they were gracious enough to show off some of the great gear that makes up their live rig.
Right off the bat, vocalist Zach Taylor praised the Roland VT-4 vocal pedal, which has allowed him to uncomplicate his live performance rig. "For a while there, I was running tracks with my show," Zach told us, "and doing the whole thing where we had in-ears, and I was running my vocals to a computer, to my Apollo interface, and we were doing effects programmed into a session. For this show, we wanted to get out of a box."
Another highlight from the rig tour is a super cool and funky amp that Aaron Wing has been using—a Genz Benz Shenandoah 60. This little vintage-looking amp is actually for acoustics and features a built-in preamp, but Aaron loves its distinct solid-state breakup sound and the character it brings to their live shows.
These are only two of the many gear highlights the band details in the video above, so be sure to watch it in full for even more behind the scenes tidbits on their vintage Rickenbackers, pedals, synth modules, and more. Then, head to the Audiotree YouTube channel to watch their Audiotree Live Session.
