For sale: legendary electric piano - Rhodes MK I Stage

I’m selling the world’s most iconic electric piano – the Rhodes MK I. This instrument is in excellent condition, serving me daily as a fully functional studio tool. It’s not gathering dust in a basement – it is actively used, regularly maintained, and fine-tuned.

The Rhodes fits perfectly in modern electronic music, as well as in vintage soul- and funk-inspired productions. It was manufactured around 1975. Its history makes it even more special – it previously belonged to Janusz Grzywacz, the keyboardist of the legendary Polish progressive rock band Laboratorium. I purchased it in early 2020 from analogia.pl.

The instrument is in top working order – you can start playing immediately after purchase, with no additional repairs or adjustments needed.

Upgrades and modifications:

• Installed Miracle Mod – greatly improves the key action, adding proper dynamic response (no more spongy feel found in stock Rhodes pianos).
• Applied Weight Mod – each key has a lead weight added (further enhancing responsiveness and feel).
• Replaced all hammer tips, damper felts, screws, rubber washers, and the springs holding the tines.
• Performed full tine re-plating.
• Complete cleaning of the instrument inside and out.
• Brand new legs and sustain pedal included.
• Precise adjustments made: key action, hammer strikeline, voicing for each tine, pickup alignment, as well as balancing of the keyboard and replace of the key felts.
• The piano is properly tuned.
• Installed new tone and volume potentiometers.
• Covered with brand new tolex, both on the instrument body and the lid (it could be a little worn by my use but at least it's not 50 years old).

Flaws:

• Missing a few chrome corner protectors on the case and the instrument.
• The hammer for the highest key is slightly bent – replacement is recommended if you plan on using that note heavily.

Pickup and delivery:

Due to its size, personal pickup in Kraków is strongly recommended – this also gives you the chance to test the instrument in person.
