24th APRIL 2025: I'm sorry but the more I play it the more I realize how fine this guitar is, 600€ was way too low. This is literally effortless to shred on, same quality level as my rare RG4080, 2820, 550, RGT220A or 320Z. I wasn't thinking on keeping it, but I prefer to keep it than sell it at a low price.
11th JULY 2024: THE KNOBS WERE CHANGED TO BLACK GOTOH SPEED KNOBS; SEE LAST PIC PLEASE.
Awesome Ibanez RG made in Japan! Not just a guitar, but literally a piece of guitar history. According to the "Date Your Ibanez" website it's a 1990 model, serial number F050529.
First time I sell an RG with the OSNJ vintage style neck heel. Although I'm a fan of the AANJ myself, I have to admit it was pretty clever for that period. In fact, I didn't noticed much difference while I was playing it, the access to the highs is still great!
The previous owner installed a Seymour Duncan Parallel Axis and 2 special features: a kill-switch that goes back to ON when you stop pressing it (lower switch), and a upper boost switch. Basically you have the usual 5 position configuration, and the boost switch is really great; when you engage it, you have a boost like a boost pedal: the tone is thicker and more distorted. At first I found it bizarre, but it's pretty great in fact. You get a solo tone without moving one single foot :)
The frets were levelled by me, the neck is now flat and the action is SUPER low. The 2nd and 4th positions are pretty nice, Strat/Telelish tones.
As for aesthetics, you have 2 major dings, one next to the jack input and the other on the arm cut (see the pics). The neck heel shows on both sides the cracks we all know on RGs, NO it won't break, only the finish is cracked! My RG550 is way more cracked than this 570, specially in the front, and it's my most played guitar. The sides and horns are in pretty good condition, and some light scratches from regular wear, really not that visible.
Last, but not least: the black tremolo bar IS INCLUDED (although I forgot to take pics), the strap pins were replaced by a new set of black Gotohs, and I've decided to go for new black knobs for volume and tone, closer to the originals, these ones suck. The case below is my own and I use it as background.
Awesome playing my friends!
Take care,
The Baldman
