Exceptional H1260 Sovereign branded as Silvertone.

This is a smashing beautiful Silvetone (exactly same as Sovereign H1260) with a very nice tone to match.

Are you considering buying one of our rebuilds?  We can't do our work justice with pictures.  The important quality is inside.  When you receive this guitar, put your hand in the sound hole.  Feel the perfectly formed smooth braces.  We challenge you to inpect our quality work with an inpection mirror.  We remove all Harmony company glue globs.  The top is smooth with no hint of glue residue in most cases.  Liner blocks are sanded smooth.  We add side braces additional to those added by Harmony workers.  In short, we do what Harmony should have done in the first place.  This guitar is a tour de force of acoustic guitar restoration.  You will know it when you play it.

The back is so nice you can barely tell it was removed to replace the top bracing.

No doubt about it, this is one of the nicer looking Sovereigns we have produced.

Very nice (now flat) close grained top

Reinforcing plate is Hard Rock Maple.

Action is 4/64 at low and high E, 12th fret with plenty of saddle.

New set of Martin SP-4100 light gauge strings included.

The gear head face is clean original with no touch-up.

Sound quality is top notch and much better than any ladder braced. You definitely will not be disappointed.

New Parts

• Bracing - new forward shifted 100 degree sitka spruce.
• Bridge - brazilian rosewood with pins.  In the images, you can see that our installation of the new bridge is not in the original attachment location.  This was done on purpose.  As is often the case with Harmony guitars, intonation was way off.   In order to have enough wood in front of the saddle to prevent bridge cracking, and to correct intontation, we rotated the bridge a bit. You can see this in the pictures.  Unlike many sellers on eBay, we hide nothing in our listings.  Our images are intended to show the good and the bad.   You can count on us for quality work.  
• Saddle - Tusq - compensated 3/32 inch thick
• Nut - Vintage bone
• Bridge pins - Ivoroid with black dot (4966-S)
• Strap pin - Ivoroid (4965-EP)
• Tuners - New Golden Age Restoration (2503-N). These are much better than the originals.
• Back binding - new ivory ABS
• Finger board binding - new ABS
• Heel cover - Indian rosewood replacement.
• Frets - All new
• Pick guard - shop made. Looks like dead on match to the original.

OEM Parts

• Top - solid Sitka spruce
• Neck, back, and sides - premium solid mahogany
• Dot markers - all original
• Finish - sides all original. Back is refinished. Neck finish is mostly original. Top has one coat of over spray which is buffed to perfection.
• Truss Rod - original, enhanced
• Truss Rod Cover - Original

Problems

• Top has one 2 inch not through the finish scratch lower right bout. Otherwise top is excellent
• Top has barely visible scratches.
• The right side has one 3 inch bad scratch and one 1 inch by 1/4 inch missing finish area.
• The gear head has very slight missing black paint chips.
• The neck heel has a repaired screw hole using solid wood not putty. The neck heel finish is somewhat darker that the rest of the neck. Repair is barely visible.
