About this listing
2014 Fender USA Adam Clayton Signature Jazz BassSherwood GreenFirst Year Production* Collectors Only * Here is a VERY RARE find I am proud to offer to the public. This listing is for my 2014 Fender USA Adam Clayton Jazz Bass in the legendary Sherwood Green Finish. You can see the tools, Fender Product Registration Card and Owner's Manual photographed. Serial Number: US14083995. Here is a fun fact-- When I created this listing, Reverb has this bass being produced starting 2015. Not true, everyone. This Sherwood Green beauty was made in and debuted in 2014. You remember 2014, right? U2 forced Songs of Innocence on everyone's iPhone, Taylor Swift released 1989 which began her ascent into main stream pop stardom and Pharrell was all over the airwaves with "Happy". I bought this bass in 2014 and it is time for someone else on the planet to enjoy ownership. This bass is UNPLAYED and I hope another long time U2 fan treasures it as I have for over a decade. I know you can buy a new one for a little less than mine, however its not a FIRST YEAR Collectible and we all know it might not be in the same, pristine condition. Adam Clayton is the bassist for U2, one of the most commercially successful and culturally influential rock bands in history. Any fan knows right from the start, they have some legendary tracks. I feel they really came into their own on the War album. I remember as a kid in grammar school their Unforgettable Fire tour and how upset I was I wasn’t allowed to go. I did make up for it on Joshua Tree and just about every other tour since then. If you have not seen them live, you are really missing out. They have “it” and are an incredible show. If have had the pleasure of seeing them, you understand. They are an amazing live act.Another tid-bit of history, 14 year old Adam Clayton posted a note on his school’s bulletin board to form a band. What are the chances that the original 4 guys would last decades and become U2? Clayton was the least musically accomplished of the group. Fortunately for us, his instinctive, melodic bass style became one of the most recognizable in rock history. U2 has won 22 Grammy Awards and sold over 170 million records worldwide. Clayton's signature tone is rooted in his deep connection to vintage Fender Jazz Basses, particularly his prized 1965 model in Sherwood Green, which directly inspired this instrument.Condition: 10/10 — This is the quickest part of this listing. Absolutely Pristine. No play wear, no buckle rash, no fret wear. When you pop open the Fender Hard Case, you will think you just got home from your local music store in 2014. Never gigged, never rehearsed and less than a couple hours of at-home, sit down play. A rare find for the serious collector or discerning player who wants a mint, first-year USA Adam Clayton Signature Bass. This bass was introduced in 2014 — and its arrival couldn't have been more dramatic. Just months before the public release, Adam Clayton played a pre-production version of this very instrument on the roof of 30 Rockefeller Center during Jimmy Fallon's historic first night hosting The Tonight Show on NBC in February 2014. That performance, one of the most-watched late night moments of the decade and introduced this Sherwood Green Jazz Bass to the world. THIS BASS is a first-year production example of that exact instrument made in Corona, California, USA. The 2014 Summer NAMM show was the official Fender debut of this model.Specifications:Body: Solid alder, Sherwood Green Metallic finish with matching headstockNeck: Gloss maple, custom medium "C" profile (designed specifically for Clayton)Fingerboard: Rosewood, 9.5" radius, pearloid block inlays, 20 medium jumbo fretsNut Width: 1.5"Scale Length: 34"Neck Thickness: ~.82" at 1st fret / ~.96" at 12th fretPickups: Fender Custom Shop '60s single-coil Jazz Bass pickups (neck & bridge)Controls: Volume / Volume / Master ToneBridge: 4-saddle hi-mass vintage-styleTuners: Vintage-style "Lollipop" Fender tunersPickguard: 4-ply white pearloidMade in USA — Corona, California | First Year of Production: 2014Case: Original Fender black hardshell caseAll paperwork includedI specialize in international shipping for over three decades.
