Studer 089 Racked Stereo Channel Strip – Dual Mic Pre + EQ + PSU

Rare Studer 089 stereo channel strip built from original Studer broadcast console modules and professionally assembled into a standalone rack unit by a Swiss engineer. Previously used for mastering applications.

The unit features two microphone preamps, stereo line inputs, the highly regarded stepped Studer inductor EQ section, original stereo master fader and external PSU.

The sound is unmistakably Studer: detailed, open and musical, with particularly smooth and creamy midrange response from the EQ section. The microphone inputs are transformer balanced, and the unit is suitable for stereo recording, mix processing, mastering duties and Mid-Side applications.

Included in the sale is also an original Studer 089 dual line amplifier card fitted with two large output transformers. This card is untested and not installed in the unit.

Condition

The unit is currently operational and sounds excellent. All main audio functions are working at the time of listing.

However, due to age, the unit occasionally exhibits temperamental behaviour and would benefit from a thorough service by a qualified technician. For this reason it is sold strictly as-is, without warranty or returns, and should be regarded as vintage equipment that may require maintenance now or in the future.

Cosmetically the unit is in very good condition with minimal signs of use.
