About this listing
The Gibson Custom Shop / Murphy LAB 1964 SG Standard with Maestro Vibrola in Faded Cherry Heavy Aged finish has arrived as a used item!! Serial No.: 007622, built in 2021. The Gibson Custom Shop represents the pinnacle of quality, featuring precision that rivals the originals, meticulous attention to detail, exceptional craftsmanship, and outstanding sound. Regardless of the fact that George Harrison and Eric Clapton chose the f64 model, 1964 was a special year for the SG. The previous side-pull vibrato was replaced with the highly reliable Maestro Vibrola. The slim-tapered neck was changed to one closer to that of the 1959 Les Paul, bringing the SGfs sound, looks, and playability to perfection. The 1964 SG Standard Reissue from the Gibson Custom Shop boasts a high level of craftsmanship in every aspect, featuring a '64 C-shaped neck and Maestro Vibro-Lever, along with a deep cherry color achieved through vintage-style aniline dye, plastic parts that faithfully replicate the original materials, and vintage-spec electronics. The heavy-aged finish, applied by Murphy Labfs skilled artisans, combined with heavy-aged hardware, recreates the feel of a guitar that has been played on tours and gigs, capturing the unique look and play feel of vintage instruments from Gibsonfs Golden Era. Since the instrument has been aged, it is difficult to assess any subsequent dents or scratches, but it remains in excellent condition. Of course, playability is also excellent.
