The black nitrocellulose finish hides an alder body with the usual comfort shapings, while the bolt-on maple neck in the comfortable "1960 C" profile carries a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. A Fender Pure Vintage '60s Split coil pickup with traditionally passive electrics also elicits top-notch vintage tones with that signature low-mid growl suitable for grooving in just about any genre. Last but not least, Fender completes the American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass RW 3-Color Sunburst with Hardware in typical vintage style. Tradition-conscious constructionWhen building the American Vintage II '60s Precision Bass, Fender naturally reproduces the historically authenticated methods and tonewoods to get as close as possible to the look and feel of a period original. While the black nitrocellulose lacquered alder body promises comfortable handling due to the typical comfort shapings on front and back, the bolt-on maple neck with the slim "1960 C" profile and 7.25" fingerboard radius creates the best conditions for implementing classic playing techniques on the 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, which is applied as a thick "slab board" to the flat neck blank. The authentic "clay dots" for marking the positions also turn out to be a loving detail. Authentic vintage soundAs pickup for the American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass Fender chooses a Pure Vintage '60 Precision Bass Split Coil. Designed after historical models and placed at the center of the body, the Bass pickup elicits traditional vintage tones from the bass amp, which, with the typical growl of the low mids, are not only suitable for driving rock and metal grooves but also perfectly set off basslines between funk, blues, reggae and R'n'B. A classic passive electric with volume control and treble slider also helps to set the perfect bass sound. Authentic hardware equipmentOf course, authentic sixties-style Hardware completes the American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass RW 3-Color Sunburst. On the body, the factory-wound strings find their neck at the Pure Vintage 4-saddle sheet metal angle bridge, whose separately adjustable steel string saddles guarantee accurate intonation and comfortably playable string action. Behind the bone saddle, Pure Vintage Reverse Open-Gear tuners also keep Fender's electric bass guitar securely in tune. Last but not least, the headstock carries a third strap holder, which was offered in the sixties as an option for all bassists who wanted to attach their strap to the headstock in the classic manner.
