7 Sound Switch Added Between the two Tones pots from the USA-Haywire Custom Shop 7 Sound
Switch Translation:
NORMAL Position 1 of the 5-way selector switch activates the bridge pickup alone by engaging the toggle switch at this point it will activate the neck pickup giving you the bridge and neck pickups together.
Likewise, with the 5-way selector switch in the second position with the bridge and middle pickups activated, a flick of the toggle switch adds the neck pickup to the equation which gives you ALL of the pickups together. Two choices now missing on a stock Strat.
Here's the switch run-down: Here's what you'll get after we added the 7 Sound Toggle Switch between the Tone Controls:
Position 1-Will give you tones and sounds reminiscent of the “Byrds” Rickenbacker tone.
Position 2-Will make all three pickups available at one time.
5-way switch pickup selections Your 2 new selections:
position 1 Bridge pickup alone bridge + neck in parallel
position 2 bridge + middle pickup in parallel all three pickups in parallel
position 3 middle pickup alone
position 4 middle + neck pickup in parallel
position 5 neck pickup alone
Engaging the toggle switch will add the neck pickup in any position of the 5 way slider switch
We heard you. THIS GUITAR HAS A WORKING BRIDGE TONE CONTROL!
In 99% of Fender Stratocaster guitars the tone control doesn't work for the bridge-only pickup selection of the Stratocaster.
It works on a few, approximately 1% of Stratocaster guitars whether made by Fender or by Squier, or Affinity, Fender Japan, Fender Taiwan, Fender Mexico, American (circa 1991) or Fender China and more have no tone control on the bridge pickup. The tone controls do work for the other four switch positions.
Why?
It was just a design that was only meant to please the inventor, Mr. Leo Fender.
Leo wanted a pickup position that sounded similar to a steel guitar. So now in Fender guitars the bridge pickup selection has no tone control wired to it whatsoever and no one at Fender Corp. has seemed to notice. They have failed for years to hear what guitarists have been asking for.
Can we simply have a tone control on our bridge pickup?
YES-Your Bridge tone control is now here.
From the Haywire Custom Guitars-Custom Shop
Why is the Treble Bleed Circuit included?
Turning the volume control applies varying amounts of a specially tuned high frequency filter to the pickups.
Now each pickup has the ability to produce a stronger, fuller tone and 50% less noise. This variable treble bleed circuit is pre-installed. The variable treble bleed/bypass circuit corrects the problem of high frequency losses common in Strats and Teles.
It provides auto-adjustment of tone at reduced volumes and improves audio taper between 3 and 10.
Now the tone is crisp, clear and articulate all the way down to 1.
Question?
With The Treble Bleed modification installed:
How does it work?
Answer-It allows you to roll off your volume without losing the highs.
Would you like being able to use the volume control... without sacrificing tone?
Now You Can... with a Treble Bleed Circuit Mod added on this guitar!
As you turn your guitar's volume down, the pot allows some of the current to go to ground as opposed to the output.
The frequencies that leave first are the highs, which leave the tone muddy and obscured without an "edge" on it to a discerning ear.
So....., you can now avoid this problem with the installed: Haywire Treble Bleed Circuit
NOW......When you lower your guitar's Volume control take notice if you lose your tone's clarity.
If your tone is now muddy & with too much bass, adding our Haywire Treble Bleed Circuit to your Volume Control Pot, your guitar will "Bleed" in more Treble as you turn your volume down. Now you have much cleaner, articulate tones when rolling down the volume control.
This feature allows the treble frequencies to be re-introduced into the output for clarity and improved timbre and no loss of highs for you. At Haywire we simply install a TB Circuit capacitor. We build them in our custom guitars for a better Low and High sound spectrum:
1-error-correction of signals with enhanced clarity
2- preserve high end frequencies
3-improved taper when rolling back your volume control
