The Trio (Kenwood) KP-880D, released only in Japan in 1983 during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment, is a somewhat rare and highly sought-after direct drive turntable. In addition to its high-fidelity Kenwood heritage, the KP-880D features a design that is both precise and solid. It also features the innovative DL (Dynamic Center Lock) motor system, the world's first precision rotation mechanism that uses the pressure of the lubricating fluid to lock the spindle to the absolute center point Of its rotation with high accuracy, thereby obtaining excellent wow and flutter performance. Moreover, this mechanism prevents wear in this part of the unit, increasing longevity of the turntable. The KP-880D has some impressive stats, including an SNR of 82 dB ( DIN-B) and wow and flutter of <0.006% (FG direct).The sound quality is superb. In recent years, Kenwood turntables from this era have been getting more and more attention, by virtue of their high quality. A KP-880D in very good condition is a find, to be sure!

This particular unit is in very good condition, with some signs of age and use (See photos), including some minor scratches, scuffs and oxidized on metal part (Please see photos).
