The same original owner of this 50 watt combo also purchased the 50 watt head version of the 1987 Silver Jubillee and that is also listed here on Reverb.com. with it's original cover and was not used as much as this combo.I have shown 1 picture of the pair together.https://reverb.com/item/100438987-marshall-1987-silver-jubillee-5550-1987-head-50-watt-original-clean-1-owner My long time customer Art Stepeniak had to let everyone know these were his amplifiers as his name and initials appear in a few hidden places on both.Getting back to this combo. My amp technician of 40 years and I went all through this amp to find it was in very good condition inside and out except for a few cosmetic battle scars as seen in pictures. We noted that in its almost 40 year life, 3 pots were replaced, the lead master, the treble, and the presence controls pots. Also there are 2 mini toggle switches that just replace the disconnected push pull pots for more gain-distortion. The 2 wires each can be rewired back to the push pull pots as original and just plug the 2 small holes. That is it, the rest of the amp is all original and after cleaning the pots and jacks, etc. this amp is READY!Comes as pictured with original power cord. The 12" Celestion is nice and tight.Man, this is a rare opportunity to get both models from the original owner!___________________________________________________________________________________________________The Marshall 2554 Silver Jubilee 1x12" 50-watt combo is a legendary all-tube amplifier highly sought after for its iconic British crunch and versatile gain stages. History & Serial Number 00876 SignificanceThe Serial Number Breakdown: Jubilee series amplifiers used a unique "special bank" of serial numbers that specifically started at 00200. Having serial number 00876 makes this an incredibly early, low-numbered production model from the initial rollout in 1987. Circuit Revision Insights: Early 1987 Jubilees feature the original circuit variation. Amps built before serial number ~3,100 are known to have a slightly different tonal response compared to later 1987 revisions, making low-serial examples distinct historical artifacts. Aesthetic Shift: Because it is from the original 1987 run, your specific unit left the factory with the famous silver/grey vinyl tolex covering and a reflective chrome front control panel. (Production shifted to standard black tolex and gold faceplates in late 1988/1989). Commemorative Heritage: The Silver Jubilee line was introduced in 1987 to celebrate two milestones: 25 years of Marshall Amplification and 50 years of Jim Marshall's career in the music industry. ⚙️ Technical Specifications:Output Power 50 Watts RMS (Switchable to 25 Watts via High/Low output selector)Speaker Configuration 1 x 12-inch Celestion G12 Vintage (8 Ohms)Preamp Tubes 3 x ECC83 / 12AX7Power Tubes 2 x EL34 (configured via Drake transformers)Rectifier Solid-StateChannels/Voicings Single channel with two foot-switchable modes: Clean/Crunch and LeadFront Controls Input Gain (Pull Rhythm Clip for diode overdrive), Lead Master, Output Master (Pull Channel Select), Treble, Middle, Bass, PresenceRear Panel I/O Effects Loop (Send/Return), Footswitch Jack, Direct Injection (DI) Output, 2 x Speaker Outputs, Impedance Selector (4/8/16 Ohms), Voltage SelectorBuilt-in Effects None (no onboard spring reverb)The Serial Number Breakdown: Jubilee series amplifiers used a unique "special bank" of serial numbers that specifically started at 00200.
