The Mondegreen by Old Blood Noise Endeavours is, in their words 'Weird & Fun'. That is the best way to describe this atmospheric delay.
It fills the gap for an ambient, pad-style delay that everyone should have on their pedalboard. From the top, the pedal looks like any standard delay. It has a time knob to control how fast your repeats are. A feedback knob for the length of your repeats and a mix knob so you can control how loud your delay repeats are. But it's really the modulation effects that make this delay special.
The Mondegreen has 3 types of Delay modes. Each mode has different modulation that will affect the delay repeats. They are:
Stutter - Adds percussive tremolo
Whirl - Adds chorus
Sheer - Adds additional upper octave to each repeat.
The Sheer is probably my favourite mode on the Mondegreen. Every repeat will go up an octave. So, if you have the pedal to set only one repeat, then you will have your dry signal and the repeat will be an octave up. If you have 2 repeats set, you will have dry signal, 1 octave up, 2 octaves up. Eventually, you get high delay repeats that aren't even really audible but create a beautiful shimmery soundscape to your original dry signal. It'll add a spark of creativity for any guitarist.
Expression Output
If you are wondering how you can control the craziness available from the Mondegreen, then all you have to do is connect an expression pedal to get your answer.
