Ace Tone FM-1 60's - Black

THIS ! is an Ace Tone FM-1 in a really good condition, in perfect working order.
The enclosure features some light dents or scratch but nothing very visible.
Seems like a new old stock pedal that had been played once or twice and that you discover 60 years later from an old forgotten trunk !
Circuit is all original, the only part that needed to be replaced was the battery holder.
As a matter of fact, the terminals had been rusted by the battery and were not holding anything anymore.
I proceeded a change with a vintage part I bought on ebay (See the original box in picture).
I didn't want to break the vintage vibe of the pedal using a cheap new plastic battery holder.
So you can see that the back of the pedal was re-drilled to proceed that change.

This is the first fuzz that had been produced in Japan.
It has been called "the hairy fuzz" or has been qualified as "the rarest of the rare" in the fuzz collectors and enthusiasts community (If you have "The Brick" book, you know what I'm talking about).

The features on this fuzz pedals are basic, and you will only get 1 sound, but what a sound.
The fuzz is... Hairy ! that's right !

Works well on guitar but bass too (remember that bass sound on Radiohead Exit music for a film, it nails it without a doubt, even if this one was made with a Shin-ei Companion Fuzz as far as I remember).

You won't find this pedal in that near mint condition every week on the internet ! So here's your chance to grab a piece of musical fuzz history in a pristine (collector) condition !
